History
When Hammert’s opened for business in 1932, we were one of the smallest steel fabricators in town. Since that time we have become one of the largest fabricators in the Midwest, and a pioneer in the implementation of advanced technology.
We moved into our current 360,000-sq.ft. location in 1985 with a solid book of business from fast-track developers and contractors. Hammert’s now has the capacity to handle jobs of any size. Recognizing the technological shift from manual cutting and drilling to Computer Numerically Controlled
(CNC) equipment, the company took a truly revolutionary step. We successfully installed the latest CNC technology and automated fabricating equipment and developed a shop floor control system that provides real time data communication for each step in the fabricating process. This gives management an effective tool for tracking an individual piece for progress in the
Shop, for shipping, for job site material control and for cost comparison to the original estimate.
In an ongoing commitment to growing the business, the company entered into partnership with the Stupp family of companies in 1993. Joining forces with the industry’s oldest operating fabricator and very well respected name further establishes Hammert’s in a leadership role. As the Stupp family of companies
celebrates its more than 150 years of doing business, we are dedicated to implementing the next generation of technological advances in all aspects of fabricating and erecting structural steel.
Wherever there is an opportunity to improve on the promise of
The Hammert’s Way, you can be sure it’s in our sight and in the company’s future.
